Unable to open receipt printer

This error occurs when starting the point of sale module either through General Store Back Office, or using the Point of Sale icon.

The General Store is very specific on the receipt printer.  The name of the printer in Windows\Devices and Printers must match exactly with the receipt printer selected in The General Store.

As an example, the default installation for the Star TSP100 driver names it:  Star TSP100 (143 with cutter).  The available printer in The General Store is:  Star TSP100.

To correct the error, in Windows Devices and Printers, rename the printer to:  Star TSP100.  The General Store POS will start normally.

The same situation exists with most other receipt printers you may encounter.  The solution is simply to match the names in Windows with your receipt printer selection in The General Store.
