Pervasive Client Server
The Pervasive
Client/Server install is similar to the Workgroup install, however there
are some specific requirements:
Pervasive Client
Server will only operate as a Server engine using the following operating
systems:
Windows
Server 2008 Standard
Windows
Server 2012
Pervasive
Client/Server V11 or V12
Server
Install
- Install the Pervasive Server engine to
the defaults.
- You must have a static IP address
on the server, or Active Directory with DNS installed and configured.
- Open the Pervasive License Manager, enter
your license information and Activate your license.
- Open the Pervasive Control Center.
- Select Configure Microkernel Router
- Communication Protocols - use TCP/IP only
- Application Characteristics - uncheck
'Embedded Spaces'
- Select Configure Local Engine
- Access - Ensure that 'Accept Remote Request'
is checked
- Communication Protocols - Check only TCP/IP
- Performance Tuning - Set Number of Input/Output
threads to 128
Client Install
- Install the Pervasive Client on each workstation.
- Open the Pervasive Control Center (on
the workstation)
- Select Configure Microkernel Router
- Communication Protocols - Use TCP/IP only
- Application Characteristics - Uncheck
' Embedded Spaces'
- Right Click Engines
- Select New > Server
- Enter the IP address of your server (or
the DNS name if DNS is installed on the server, and the workstation
is configured to use the server as it's primary DNS Server).
