Label Printers

The General Store for Windows supports the following bar code label printers:

Zebra LP2824 Plus

Zebra LPT2824 Plus

Zebra ZD410

TSC TD225

No other barcode printers are supported

Zebra LP2824 Plus  and Zebra LPT2824 Plus

Before you attach the printer to the computer, load your labels.  Attach the USB cable to an available USB port on the computer (note:  this device must be attached directly to the computer.  It will not operate correctly when plugged into a USB hub).  Turn the printer power ON.

Windows will connect to Windows Update and download a driver (ZDesigner LP2824 Plus (ZPL)).  Wait for this driver to install completely before continuing !

  1. Insert the Zebra driver CD in the drive.
  2. Select your printer type to install (LP2824 Plus or LPT2824 Plus), then select:  Install Windows Drivers
  3. In the top window of the driver installation, you will see the ZDesigner LP2824 Plus (ZPL).  Note the USB port assigned.
  4. Click on Install New Printer
  5. From the smaller window on your right, scroll down to the ZDesigner LP2824Plus (EPL), and select it
  6. From the location window, select the same USB port you noted earlier
  7. You can uncheck the 'Font Downloader' option
  8. Allow the driver to finish installing, then, close the installer and restart your computer.

Note:  The Zebra LP2824 and TLP2824 are no longer supported by Zebra and, therefore, maintain only limited support in The General Store.  If you have obtained one of these printers, you should install it just as you would the 'Plus' versions, and set The General Store to the ZDesigner LP2824 Plus (EPL).  The 1x1 and 2x1 labels print normally, however, ring tags will no longer be available.
