Problem:
When you start The General Store, you receive an Error Code 3012 or Error Code 3014 and the application closes
Cause:
Pervasive is unable to locate a valid SQL database engine
Resolution:
Check to be sure that your network is set up properly.
Each station must be set to either "Obtain an IP address automatically" (DHCP) or to a static IP address ("Use the following address"). You cannot "mix and match"
If you have the stations set to "Obtain an IP address automatically", you must have a DHCP server on the network.
Ensure your stations have full read/write/change permissions on the server share
Ensure that you have a mapped drive letter to the server
In a Client/Server environment, open the Pervasive Control Center. Under Configure Microkernel Router > Access, uncheck the option 'Use Local Microkernel Engine'
If the error occurs on the server or main station in a workgroup environment, something has prevented the database engine from starting automatically. Pervasive (Actian) should be installed as a service. Open the Services Control applet, right click Pervasive, and select Properties. Set the engine to a delayed start. Then, start it manually.
